On a bright Saturday morning Friends of Street Children Bangladesh and their supporters joined the street children from LEEDO Peace Home in Dhaka to share poetry, to sing songs, dance and share music and anecdotes. The event was held online and welcomed over 25 supporters and donors to mark the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh since it’s independence.
“It was great to see the children full of energy an not letting the current climate keep them down” said Mahreen a trustee of FSCBD.
FSCBD set up a text donation service where supporters can make a £10 payment by texting: INDEPENDENCE 10 to 70450. This will make a £10 donation to the charity.
The Coronavirus has been particularly hard for the street children’s with new children joining the Peace Home in the last few few months.
The recorded version of the cultural event will be made available online soon. FSCBD aim to record 50 songs, poems and stories to mark the 50 years since the independence of Bangladesh.
