On Saturday 14th July the Friends of Street Children Bangladesh raised hundreds of pounds to support the educational activities of LEEDO, a leading street children charity based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
This was the second such fundraiser for the UK-based charity, held this time at Diwana Restaurant on Drummond Street, an area of London with a strong Bangladeshi community. The organisers were pleased to have local MP for Holborn & St. Pancras, Sir Keir Starmer speak on improving relations with Bangladesh and the UK. Keir is a member of the All Party Parliamentary Group of MP’s, Friends of Bangladesh.
Other speakers included local Councillor for King’s Cross Abdul Hai and Trustees Tony Stevens and Mike Sherriff who announced that LEEDO had been successful in their bid for the Street Children Cricket World Cup 2019 which is due to take place in London. Friends of Street Children Bangladesh will continue to support LEEDO’s bid for the tournament in the coming year.
