Frequently asked questions

Why is it difficult to transfer funds to Bangladesh directly?
It’s not possible to claim Gift Aid if sent directly to Bangladesh.
Each individual transferring funds to LEEDO (our partners) would have to have the transfer approved by NGO bureau in Dhaka. Friends of Street Children Bangladesh aims to make it easier to do this.

Is there another way I can help the street children?

Sponsor a child annually: Cost towards sponsorship come to £50 a month/ £600 annually. This will go towards feeding and clothing a child and partly towards educational projects. You will be given updates every quarter on how the child is getting on.

Zakat, Lillah and Sadaqah: For people following the Islamic faith there are a number of ways you can donate towards basic costs like food and clothes and further help towards education and health care. Zakat is mainly given for basic survival needs whereas Lilah and Sadaqah can be given throughout the year.

Educational projects and delegations: We can arrange for educational projects and delegations to visit the children and their supervisors at the Peace Home in Dhaka.

How do you ensure the safety of children?
We follow the rules as set out by the Charity Commission regarding safeguarding of children. Our partners in Bangladesh train their staff so that children are always with trained supervisors.
