LEEDO and our book features at the 15th London Bangla Book Fair

Date and time: 9th & 10th November 2024, 12 – 8pm

Location: Tower Hamlets Town Hall, Whitechapel, London E1 1BJ


Expect beautiful book stalls, traditional Bangladeshi food & drink, live poetry performances from award winning London-based Bangladeshi poets and traditional Bengali dancing, to lift our spirits & celebrate in style. The Book Fair is platforming multiculturalism! 

The Fair will include 15+ Bangladeshi publishers and also publishers from America, India, China, Spain, and the UK.

Live Poetry & Bengali Dance

Live poetry is at 1pm & 3pm on Saturday 9th November and 3pm Sunday 10th November; all poets are part of the sponsoredPoet-a-thon; we are receiving website donations for LEEDO via Friends of Street Children Bangladesh – a charity rescuing & schooling street orphans in Bangladesh. Bengali dance features all through the Fair. There are also children’s drawing competitions and children’s group dancing.

Poets include: David Lee Morgan – performing a commissioned traditional Bangladeshi piece, ‘The Rebel’. Mona Dash, Amy Neilson Smith, JP Seabright, Selina Rae, Nikki Dudley, Ushiku Crisafulli, Zara Jayne, Lee Phillips, Rufaro, Rukaiya, John Farndon, Gaby Sambuccetti, Haroon, Lola Lewis, Ernie Burns, Jah-Mir Early, Shahab Ahmed, Mary Enna Wilkie, Tanusree Guha, Carys Hannah, Abdullah Faid, Hafsa Islam and the poetic cherry on the top Chip Hamer, the poets from ‘Poetry on the Picket Line’, and poets from ‘A Blind Bit of Difference’ platforming poems from the top reviewed ‘Sensory Microphone’ (Rich Mix/British Council).
